Posted by Daryl McCartney on 10 May 2022
Dear Member,Â
We are pleased to be able to let you know that we are running a singles competition for girls and boys aged 11 – 14 years old (2008 – 2011).Â
The event will take place at the club on Tuesday 31st May at 1.45pm and need to be available for the afternoon to finish the competition (approx. guide 3 hours).Â
Â
Wednesday 1st June will be our reserve day at the same start time in case of bad weather on the Tuesday.Â
Who can Play?Â
1: Any junior under the age of 14 and born between 2008 - 2011 can enter.Â
Â
2: We would suggest that the junior have some experience of yellow ball tennis and the rules of the game, however the event is open to any junior member of the club.Â
Â
3: All players need to have an LTA membership number which you can do for free and online by signing up for ‘junior advantage play’ via the link below https://www.lta.org.uk/advantage/
Â
Format
We will decide on the exact overall format of the competition nearer the time as we know how many players have entered; however, it is singles matches and will give the juniors a lot of tennis!
The winners of these local events will then go through to their County Finals - with the majority taking place on 9 and 10 July 2022, however, some County Finals may take place before this date.Â
County Final champions are then invited to compete in the National Finals at Wimbledon from 7-13 August.Â
