🎾 GDPR Policy 🎾
Posted by Daryl McCartney on 25 May 2018
Dear Member
On the 25th May 2018 the GDPR comes into force.
We expect that most of our members will have read about these new regulations and how they seek to afford us all greater protection from data use.
As a small village tennis club WLTC holds and then uses very little data for its members. In short we
(1)Â Â Â Ask for members names, home address, email address, telephone numbers and LTA registration numbers
(2)Â Â Â Use that data to collect fees, email club news and enter the Wimbledon ballot.
(3)Â Â Â Delete that data if a member leaves the club
The data is held with Club Spark who are an LTA partner and recommended platform. Details can be found at clubspark.com The LTA also give details about Club Spark and their GDPR compliance at helpcentre.lta.org.uk
We have published external privacy guidelines which can be found on our website at www.woldinghamtennisclub.co.uk
Please feel free to ask any questions about GDPR by responding to this e mail ( or if we elect a committee member we can give his / her name here as our GDPR manager)
Whether we hold your data or not is your decision. As an existing member GDPR allows us to retain data previously provided by you. However if you wish us to delete such data at this stage please contact us asap with your request. Without such basic data listed above we will be unable to keep details of your membership or let you know what is happening at our club. As a matter of good practice we will delete data within 12 months of the end of each membership year unless membership is renewed.
In respect of children (under the age of 13 in the UK ) at renewal we will only hold data with specific parental authority.
GDPR affords you to a right to ask about your data and a right to be forgotten. If you have any concerns at all then please do not hesitate to contact us.
Regards
Malcolm Henke on behalf of Woldingham Lawn Tennis Club
