October Newsletter 2017

We are delighted to report that Woldingham LTC approaches the Autumn/Winter season with an ever increasing membership - which, over the coming years provides the club with the stability and finance required to drive through the improvements that your committee wants to introduce. These improvements relate to the infrastructure and facilities provided and of course the primary aim is to improve the experience enjoyed by all members - young and old.
Whilst improvements to the playing areas and club house require planning and finance (and so will be rolled out gradually throughout 2018/19) the playing experience is already being improved with new events, sessions and socials.
Last week saw the clubs inaugural Pizza night which was a great success with members enjoying some lively tennis and some good food!
A new “Mix in“ session has been created - just come along any Tuesday between 9.30am and 10.30am to enjoy friendly play and company. Please contact Sarah Cheeseman to confirm attendance on 07901856080.
Please remember we have 3 fully floodlit courts (free use for members) and so some excellent tennis on crisp and cold winter nights awaits us all!
Our website (www.woldinghamtennisclub.co.uk) is always worth a visit to see club news, events and photographs.
In addition we have set up a new Whatspp group “ANYONE FOR TENNIS” to provide members with ready access to available tennis players. Please text Sarah Cheeseman on 07901856080 to be added to the group.
Finally we wish to express our many thanks to our current head coach - Adam Kohlbeck who retires from that position over the next couple of weeks. After several years of excellent service to the club, a change in Adams “day job“ understandably requires him to commit more time elsewhere! We are however pleased to say that Adam will remain at the club as an available coach and also as a playing member of the clubs team.
We are nearing completion of the appointment of our new head coach and further news will follow in the next edition .....
PLEASE NOTE: that if Monday 9th October remains dry all the courts will be CLOSED until 6pm to allow for moss treatment
We hope to see many of you soon!
Kind regards
Malcolm Henke
