🎾 WLTC - Ladder Competition 🎾

Dear Members, 

By popular demand we are introducing a ladder at the club in order to play fun competitive matches against fellow members.  Interested? Then please read on.


The ladder consists of club members wishing to play competitive matches against players of a similar standard.  You can only challenge any one of the three players above you where the match must be played within 2 weeks and you can’t challenge the same player for a further month.  If you beat the player above you or the challenge is refused, you switch places in the ladder.  (Exceptions will be given for holidays etc.)  Initially the ladder will be seeded into order based on results in previous club competitions so anyone wishing to join afterwards must start at the bottom.  At first, we will have one mixed league and we can review this after 6 months.  Players must write their name, email and phone number into the address book (the one with the big tennis ball on next to the ladder) in the clubhouse.


To keep the Matches fast and fluent we will follow the Fast4 Tennis rules where there are no advantage scores at deuce, tie-breaks apply at three games all and the first to four games wins the set.  However, in the spirit of the game, let calls will still be observed and will require the serve to be retaken.  Tie breaks are to 5 points.  Matches consist of two sets.  In the event of a match finishing 1:1, a Championship tie break to 10 points will decide the result.


Please email myself (stuart.crafer@googlemail.com) by 30th January if you want to be included in the ladder which will start on the 1st February.


The ladder will be displayed in the clubhouse but also E-Mail me your result.


The challenger will supply the tennis balls.
