Team News
Winter 2016/2017
As the Winter tennis season comes to a close, I thought it would be good to give an update on how the teams have got on.
· Men’s A Team Weald – W0 D4 L1 - lots of tough matches in division 1, resulting in many draws, but unfortunately likely to drop to division 2
· Men’s B Team Weald – W4 D0 L0 - managed to win all of their games and are winners of division 5 which means that they will be promoted
· Mixed A Weald – W2 L2 D2 - likely to come 3rd in division 2, just missing promotion, despite having to concede one game 4-0
· Mixed B Weald, W2 D0 L1 with 1 to play - likely to come 2nd and be promoted from division 4
Overall another good season and thanks to the team captains Paul Hodges, Philip Morris and James Flanagan for their efforts.
Also a big thanks to all the members who turned out in the matches. It is important to maintain strong league teams as it provides good competitive play and helps encourage new members.
Summer 2017
The Summer season has now started, and we have entered 2 Men’s teams, 1 Ladies team and 2 mixed teams in the Weald League
We will also be running the following junior teams in the Aegon Team Tennis League – U8 mixed, U14 girls and U18 girls
If you are interested in playing in any of the teams, please let me know and I will inform the team Captains.
Regards
Chris Jeffery
