Woldingham Lawn Tennis Club Membership Due 1st April + Dates For Your Diary
Posted by John Sinnos on 1 April 2017
Dear Members,
Welcome to Woldingham Lawn Tennis Club 2017 Season, Membership fees are now due from the 1st April.
2016/17 has been another busy year for Woldingham Lawn tennis club and I am delighted to be able to summarise the year’s successes as follows:
1) Membership has increased yet again and this has led to even better participation at club nights/events, thus providing more varied playing opportunities for us all. The committee is very keen to ensure that membership is controlled at a level where we have sufficient members to provide a good source of leisure and competitive tennis whilst at the same time retaining our enviable ability to “ turn up and play “ without an arduous booking policy.
2) The club “events“ have gone well and once again the clubs summer open day was very well received and had the collateral benefit of contributing to club funds – more such events are planned for this year Please visit the Yearly Events Planner on the website by clicking here.
3) There has been an intake of new committee members this year – We have been joined by Tim Rush, Steve Smith, Stuart Crafer, Faye Dykes and Sarah Cheeseman is our new welfare officer all of whom are now working hard with us to create a robust business plan for 2017 onwards
4) We express our sincere thanks to Gary Pollack who retires as our treasurer following more than 16 years of service to our club.
5) There have been modest improvements to the club house that we hope you enjoy – The courts continue to be well maintained and we have now secured representation on the Glebe to enable us to discuss work closely together to resolve any future issues that may arise.
But, most importantly the newly constituted committee has now started work on a business plan that will take the club forwards over the next 5 years. We hope to be able to publish a summary of this plan within the next 3 months and that it will inform all members of our plans and aspirations going forward.
Further news will follow shortly but in the interim please click here to renew your membership. You will see that only a very modest increase is requested for 2017/18 that reflects the very prudent budgeting the committee has adopted over the last year.
Please note the Wimbledon Ballot will be drawn at 8.30pm on the 26th April in the clubhouse.
Thank you to all our members and fantastic volunteers for your continued support for our club and we look forward to another enjoyable year.
Best regards
